The Association for Development Cooperation (AGEH e.v.) on behalf of the organisation nph Children's Aid Latin America is looking for a:
Montessori pedagogue for the training & further education of teaching staff, Guatemala
The organization Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (nph) was founded in 1954 by the Catholic priest William Bryce Wasson in Mexico. The relief organization maintains eleven children's villages with numerous associated facilities for orphaned, neglected and socially exposed children in Latin America. The nph Children's Village in Guatemala welcomed its first children in 1996. The legally independent organization nph in Guatemala is a foundation and aims to care for abandoned or disadvantaged children in Guatemala. Currently, 238 children and young people receive medical care, nutrition and education. 78 of them live in the children's village, the remaining 160 come from neighbouring villages. Around 136 people look after the children and young people, whether directly as carers, teachers, administrative staff, social workers, psychologists, drivers or agricultural workers.
The Montessori programme was introduced at nph about 20 years ago, but there is no Montessori training centre in Guatemala. We are looking for support to establish sustainable structures and to teach the Montessori-Approach to the teaching staff.
The place of employment is the children's village in San Andrés Itzapa in the Chimaltenango department.
