AGIAMONDO e.V. is the human resources service of German Catholics for Development Cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service (CPS), we offer specialists the opportunity to perform a meaningful role in collaboration with local development workers. The CPS is a personnel programme for peace-building and the prevention of violence in crisis and conflict regions. It advocates a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Together with church and civil-social partner organisations in the Central African Republic, AGIAMONDO aims to contribute to civil conflict transformation and sustainable and equitable development of the country using peace-building measures.

Your new field of activity

In order to promote inter-religious dialogue and strengthen social cohesion, leaders of the three main religions (Catholics, Protestants and Muslims) have created the inter-religious platform Plateforme des Confessions Religieuses de Centrafrique (PCRC). The PCRC is known and recognised beyond the country's borders and the campaigns reach a broad public beyond Bangui.

You will be responsible for the following tasks

  • By developing and introducing effective and conflict-sensitive programme management (analysis, planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning), you support the further development of the PCRC and its decentralised field offices in their impact management.
  • You support the networking of the PCRC in Bangui, at national and regional level, with the aim of creating space for dialogue and cooperation with other peace agents active in their fields of activity.
  • You identify causes of conflict and the resulting needs of the population in the different areas and derive strategies for conflict transformation from these.
  • You support the PCRC in strategic planning for advocacy processes and in fundraising.

Your profile

  • You have completed a university degree in social or political sciences and have gathered professional experience in the implementation of projects and in programme management.
  • You have previously accompanied organisational development processes, ideally in organisations that operate decentrally.
  • You have sound knowledge of and experience in the application of management and PME tools, ideally also with conflict-sensitive approaches.
  • You bring knowledge of international peace work, especially conflict transformation, ideally in cooperation with religious actors.
  • You have diplomatic abilities and intercultural communication skills that enable you to work in partnership with the involved parties.
  • You have very good knowledge of French and at least good knowledge of English.

The offer of AGIAMONDO

  • Individual and thorough preparation
  • A three-year contract, social security and remuneration in accordance with the German Development Aid Workers Act (Entwicklungshelfergesetz) (in modified form for non-EU/CH citizens)
  • Cultural, language or other professional training, as well as coaching and supervision, individual advice

For working in the CAR, additional recovery phases (one week three times a year) including a subsidy for flight and accommodation are granted in line with BMZ specifications.
