On behalf of Caritas Germany (CG) , AGEH e.V. is seeking to fill the following position for the local service centre in Beirut starting at the earliest possible date:
Project Coordinator Humanitarian Aid, Lebanon
Your new role
The German Caritas Association is the welfare association of the Catholic Church in Germany and is globally active as an aid organization. Approximately 650 aid projects each year support those who are particularly vulnerable. Caritas Germany provides support irrespective of the religious affiliation, ethnic background or nationality of those affected.Caritas Lebanon has many years of experience organizing projects to help Syrian and Palestinian refugees as well as vulnerable Lebanese people together with numerous other specialized institutions.

Specifically, you will carry out the following tasks:
You will advise and support the local partners in Lebanon in the identification of needs, planning, management and implementation of projects and programmes for emergency aid and rebuilding measures as well as the implementation of project agreements according to CG guidelines.
You will be responsible for preparing project applications, reports and project implementation according to CG standards and for reporting to headquarters on the progress of the project in a factual and timely manner.
You will support the ongoing aid programmes and projects by monitoring content and management, complete funding applications for public financial supporters (e.g. national government, EU), and coordinate and support the activities of the consultants.
You will plan and implement training measures on the topics of administrative financial technology and topical issues for local partners.
When specifically agreed on, you will take part in relevant coordination meetings on location (German Embassy, OCHA, ECHO, UNHCR), represent CG at meetings and support public relations work.
You have completed an academic degree relevant to development cooperation and have at least 2 years of professional experience in the field of humanitarian aid or development cooperation, ideally acquired in the region.
You use your communication and counselling skills in a culturally sensitive way and have already gained experience training local partner organizations.
You are motivated and can quickly adapt to changing conditions and know how to communicate appropriately at various different levels.
You are physically and mentally fit to travel within Lebanon.
You identify with Caritas Germany´s objectives and agenda.
Your written and spoken English is excellent. Knowledge of Arabic or French would be beneficial.
You are a member of a Christian church and you are an EU or Swiss citizen.
