Trainer for JRS Peace and Reconciliation Work with Refugees (m/f/d), Adjumani, Uganda
Your new role
In Uganda, forcibly displaced persons are received with an open policy. Due to the provided right to freedom of movement and work, some refugees manage to migrate to urban areas, while others still live in camps. With more than 1.4 million refugees, Uganda is Africa's largest host country. More than one million of them have fled conflicts in South Sudan or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the last two years.
The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is a global humanitarian organization, the mission of which is to accompany and support refugees and to defend their rights. JRS Uganda provides access to education, promotes the sustainable development of independent livelihoods and provides emergency and social assistance. A peace and reconciliation programme is currently underway at the Adjumani site to resolve prejudices and tensions between the various ethnic groups.
